If you are looking for a way to delight your child with a toy that seems like it is from a bygone era, you can give them a metal pedal car. These cars are built to last and will allow your child to use pedal power to navigate the sidewalks around town. They can feel as though they are steering in a little car of their own when they get into one of these beauties. As there are so many styles from which you can choose when it comes to pedal cars, you are sure to get one that will make your child happy.
A metal pedal car is usually preferred over a plastic pedal car. Years ago, all of the pedal cars were made from metal. Today, there is a mix of those made from a hard plastic as well as those made from metal. The metal cars tend to last longer than the plastic and can take a bit more of a beating. As children are often hard on their toys, especially if they are sharing them with friends and siblings, it makes sense to get the toy that is the least able to be destroyed. The metal pedal car can last a good long time - far longer than the length of time that the child will use the toy.
Children who use pedal cars are usually very young. By the time the child gets to be seven years old, they tend to want to ride a bike, which can take them places even faster. This is compounded by the fact that most of their friends will be riding bikes at this age. So the metal pedal car will have a shelf life for your child of about five years.
However, if you purchase a car that is built to last, you can use it for other siblings. If the car is in good shape by the time your children are finished with it, as it very well be if it is made of metal, it can be sold on the secondary market as well. If you want to get a toy car that your children can use to tool around with, and you want this toy to last for a long time, you are better off to get a metal pedal car over one that is made of plastic.
